Every Salamat host is certified before their listing goes live. Certification is not a checkbox — it produces real deliverables for the host and real quality assurance for travellers.

Essential Host

Single room in a family home. Basic stay only.

40

The Founding Forty

The first 40 host families — one from each of Kyrgyzstan's 40 administrative districts — are the Salamat Founding Forty. The number 40 is sacred in Kyrgyz culture. The Manas epic features 40 tribes. The Kyrgyz flag has 40 rays on its sun. Every founding host was personally visited and certified. Certification fees waived. Founding badge displayed permanently.
